The compass consist of a transparent plastic mainly rectangular base with a rounded edge against the hand and a circular dial assembly with a liquid damped compass needle. The compass does not have any light sources, is magnetic, unmounted, and suitable for field conditions.

Needle design: Red for north and black for south. The center of the needle is transparent and the damping shape of the needle is also transparent. The hub of the needle features a NdFeB ring shaped magnet.

Compass capsule: Hermetically sealed transparent PMMA capsule, diameter 35 mm.
