Water proofness:
The clinometer capsule is water proof to all practical depths. The cavity around the clinometer capsule will get water filled. Remove the ocular to drain. Rinsing both the inside of the instrument and the ocular to remove salt is highly recommended to the keep the reading clear.

Clinometer
Clinometer feature:
A low friction weighted rotating card with inclination scale is located in a liquid filled capsule. The side of the card has an inclination scale that is read through an ocular. An index line is visible in front of the scale.
Clinometer scale:
Compass card with a coarse degrees ±90˚scale with a 5˚ resolution and a nummber every 10˚. The outer side of the compass card has two fine hypsometer scales; 15m distance hypsometer for ±35m height, and 20m distance hypsometer for ±50m height, resolution and numbering varies with height.
Sighting Tools
Lensatic:
Ocular that is looked through with one eye to se the scale on the the side of the clinometer card while the other eye sees the target.
