Water proofness:
The compass and clinometer capsules are water proof to all practical depths. The cavities around the capsules will get water filled. Remove the ocular to drain. Rinsing both the inside of the instrument and the ocular to remove salt is highly recommended to the keep the reading clear.

Primary direction scale:
The outer side of the compass card has a fine DEGREES 0-360˚ scale with 0,5˚ resolution and a number every 10˚. There is numbering for both bearing and back bearing.
Secondary direction scale:
The compass card has a coarse DEGREES 0-360˚ scale with a 5˚ resolution and a nummber every 30˚ on top.

Magnetic balancing:
Global balancing achieved with low center of gravity for the compass card. This technological choice means the card will still tilt with magnetic inclination but the tilt becomes noticable only in steep and stron southern incilnations like in Australia and new Zeeland where the user may need to compensate for the tilt by tilting the instrument accordingly for the most accurate readings.

Hermetically sealed transparent PMMA capsule, diameter 44 mm.
Protractor index:
Index line visible through the ocular in front of bearing and back-bearing scale on side of compass card for direct reading. Additionally a line on top of the compass capsule for the coarse scale.
Clinometer
Clinometer feature:
A low friction weighted rotating card with inclination scale is located in a liquid filled capsule. The side of the card has an inclination scale that is read through an ocular. An index line is visible in front of the scale.
Clinometer scale:
Compass card with a coarse degrees ±90˚scale with a 5˚ resolution and a nummber every 10˚. The outer side of the compass card has two fine scales; one with degrees ±90˚scale with 1˚ resolution and a number every 10˚ and one slope ±150% scale with variable resolution 1-2% depending on slope and number every 10%.
Sighting Tools
Lensatic:
Ocular that is looked through with one eye to se the scale on the the side of the compass card or clinometer card while the other eye sees the target.
